Added a background and finished up more details on him. What i am wondering now is...
Is the background too dark and the guy too pale? or does it create a cool contrast?
And should i cut off the drawing at the waist or have his second hand holding something?
And one last question.. anyone know of any good tutorials on painting wood?
Thanks!
ps i didnt model him after brom's raguel pic.. but i did get the ideas for the colors, composition and the pose from brom and keel (http://home.broadpark.no/~vstromm/index.htm)

New One
thanks!

I think that this work would benefit from a background, or at least a darker color (instead of white). Something else about him is just ... odd. Maybe it's just that he's so striking (good job w/ modeling his face, btw . Also something about his neck seems giraffe-ish to me. he he. Anyways -- i like it. Keep at it! ^_^ |

I am planning on putting in a background. Probably an abstract dark brown backdrop. I also tried to give him a sort of alien like feel.. it goes with a story i am writing. Hence maybe the giraffe neck ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Nice work.
The image reminds me on one of Broms characters, "raguel". |

The face looks good, but there is a bump at the bottom of his neck that I think sticks out a little too far.
also, there's something that really bothers me about the fingers, but it looks like you're still working on that part

This is great work. My only problem is that you definitely either need to cut it off at the waste or finish up that left hand... or paint in some blood on that stub. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
