In addition to crits, I'd appreciate suggestions for two things: the background and also, I was thinking of adding a sword poking into the foreground from the lower left.. but I can't get the perspective right. Can anyone help out? Thanks!

Heh, I like the expression on his face, also I dont think you need a sword in this picture, the guys face says it all, I�m seeing before me how he�s having this serious discussion and suddenly the court jester pulls off some weird stunt in wich his head explodes.
