This is a portrait of my Shakespeare professor as Richard III, from the history play of the same name. For those not familiar with the play, Richard is a cunning, diabolical, deformed and yet seductive tyrant- think evil incarnate.
This was originally a pencil drawing which I scanned into photoshop; then I adjusted some of the hues & values and added the background castle. I'd like to do something interesting with the empty spaces, but I can't decide what. Some kind of texture overlay, probably- unfortunately, I don't really know how to do that photo-manip type stuff. If anyone could point me to some really good web resources for that kind of thing, it would be greatly appreciated. And of course, comments/crits/ideas are more than welcome.
P.S. Is tbns.net too slow these days? Or does the pic load okay? |

Nice lump of poo there! hehe joke, i like
As for photo manipulation, it can be rather enchancing for this type of style. All you do is take a texture, set it as different types of layers on low opacity and cut away parts you dont need - repeat. |

Shizo: Heh. It's a nice picture... for me to POOP on! Seriously though, I figured the texture stuff out, except I have no idea how to import one, full-color, into PS. It can't be that hard, I'm just too dull. Anyway, I slapped some colors onto this bad boy:
Here's a variation, it's supposed to be reminiscent of a putrid corpse:
What do you all think? |

definetly like the first pic best, but that's also because that one could be finished, the rest goes into a whole new style.. so actually no base for comparing them.. a well... I'm just blabering away arent I? |
