hi everybody, thats a pic I made for our school magazine cover !
c&c, drawover or colorings r welcome sorry for the bad scanning, I had to scan it with the scanner of my friend wich is not that good like u see...
but anway, how u like it ?

You have taken some time rendering the background, but the character is flat and unshaded. |

hmmm...thats exactly my problem ! i really don't know how to shade my charakter !
and yes, you are right, I took the char from Mononoke and made him older !

Hmm.. I would draw everything somewhat more
dynamic and more constructive
define the shapes of the background more to create 'space'
maybe something like this quickie?

it's ok but his right arm looks weird and his pose is unatural. I agree with the post above..
maybe it'll help if you first draw the characters body, and then cover it with clothes (I'm trying that in my sketches now, it seems to work)
And maybe start your drawing thinking of the whole shape of the character, determining his pose before you go into detail.
