The pose is a little weird - he/it seems to be sort of sitting down, or falling, so I tried keping the torso but adding some different legs and solving the unfinished arm etc.
Maybe it'd be an idea to plot more simply where things are going to go before commencing the sketch, particularly with a view to the figure's centre of gravity.

I like the pose in the second one, he seems to be chillin on a couch =] I think you should make a background like that...

The armor is great, but i can't seem to figure out what he is doing. The pose you have now looks like he is slouching down (sitting.) If he is sapost to be slouching than good job. If he isn't than you want to strieghten up his legs. |

thenetbox.. YES!
woohoo. hehe, ok i suck, it took 5 ppl before it that was evident. I went out and bought me this humungous anatomy book, and the drawing on the rightside of the brain book, so maybe I can work on my foundational/fundamental drawing steps.
thank you

Thanks for the kind words, Rep. I had a lot of fun adapting and coloring your sketch. In truth, I didn't really do that much to the portions I retained; just cleaned them up a little, hit multiply and began doing fills underneath, standard comic-book style. After that, I added a new layer over your artwork and just did a few highlights like the lasers.

WOW..
Specialbrew,
I like what you have done to him. Though I guess what I was going for was a gun in his left arm pointing at the audience. Have him sort of falling backwards firing it, or somethingl ike that. I dunno, I wanted to try my hand at dynamic poses, but obviously, failed miserably.
Anyhow, Marakaz, thanks for the word of encouragement, and Specialbrew, thanks for the rad coloring. If you don't mind, enlighten me with the steps you took in coloring the line drawing? especially since the line drawing i posted is a really rough sketch.
Cheers!

Ok, I konw the lot of you are tired of seeing this stupid thing, but I finished it as far as its gonna get drawn, but now I'm ready to learn how to CG correctly. I am following a very insightful CG tutorial right now, but before I go and do that, I have digitally touched-up most of the lines and added/deleted a few segments. I'm still not happy with his left arm, BUT its gonna have to do for now. Hope you all like the 99.9% finished product. And I kept him on the same legs because I still want him to be leaping backwards while firing his arm cannons. But I am going to do a revision that I think you all will find amusing.
