Add more irregularity. Right now it looks 'too 3d' simply because everything in it is very smooth and curved. Add some straight edges somewhere, some more obvious corrosion; something for contrast, you might say.

The water looks awesome, nice work.

What about composition?
I'm not sure but it seem that there is something wrong.
Somthing is missing or what?

very nice, but strangely the water doesn't seem to refract the light...
the overall composition looks good, the fish looks a bit strange , to
many deformations , maybe you could improve the looks of the land in the background...

Well, if you're any good at 2d art, ust manually repaint some parts to your liking...

The main problems that I'm finding is
a.) That dolphin jumping outta there like that.. doesn't look like it belongs... get rid of it?
b.) The water looks extremely fake... the ripples look equally spaced and similar... and that kinda creates a wierd squished effect at the end. The ripples are also not reflected on the areas where water touches the building... you can see that area is shown by a straight line.
c.) Desert.. I have no idea.. maybe try adding some volumetric fog? Not rendering all the detail may help as well.

For the background fog wouldn't be too bad an idea, if you can change the shape slightly so that it had more random curvature too, at the moment it can pass for a moon rising in the background. Darken it up a bit but keep it to sandy hues, see the way the poddish-like buildings lose detail and highlight the farther back the picture goes? Try and reflect that on the hills

and... wouldn't be very easy, but:

For the dolphin in the background, add some water splashing up, create a white water effect if you can and small distortions in the surface of the water.

for the fish thing in front, and this is just a suggestion but I think it would add some life and break the "order" of the front, have the fin break the surface of the water and create some ripples/distortion in the water surface.

Nice picture

I know this would make the whole thing harder, but you could add some kind of a wind storm to the whole thing. With the watter lappin up against the edges, and waves rolling in, and some sand blowing around in the desert. that'd get reaid of the peacful feeling...

the waves in the water are very cool! but I also think it looks too smooth and " 3d "
also the line between water and building is to hard, if there are waves in the water, the'll be there to.

for even more realism I think you'll need some irragularities in the bridge and buildings

it's great work

I love the transluceny of the water but I dont feel as though there is anything to indicate the volume of the water. there should be haze below the waterline. so the building should fade off below the water into the deep... essentially.

dunno if that makes any sense but it really is a cool image.

What about having a guy looking over the bridge thing down at the thing in the water?

Water = vegetation, even if its not alot, there is not kelp or seaweed on the bottom of your water. If this water is supposed to be a new addidtion to the planet (ie. man made) then you should make the water murky. But then there are fish/dolphins, which makes it even more odd the lack of vegetation. How do they live?

I consider the latest attempt better. Still I find this piece little bit too "3D" or clinical. Try to add some variation on waves and shapes. And why the heck there are old shitty wooden bridges in the scifi-city :D Am I right but is that the botton of the lake that is below the fish? If it is, it cant have brighter value than sky. In fact, where all that light exactly came? it looks like there is sun setting next to that building or something.

But nice work thought.

are there bright light sources under water or something?
if not, normally with water that deep (it seems very deep), you can't see the bottom that well (light loses its energy very fast travelling through water).
it'd just be dark. have a look at a lake or something for reference.

you might also consider a little stuff (some dirt, rotten sea vegetation, a few small bubbles, etc.?) floating on the water surface here and there.

Finally, changed water!!! Great!
The overall pic looks very good, and I didn't even see it as 3D at first, but then I looked at the water... but with the latest update, the water looks MUCH better!
PS, loving the background, and the texture on the front building. Though I do think the foreground looks better on the version before the last, but the background looks best on this new version. Think you can do a combo?
