it's fairly nicely done, but as concepts go it often is nice to note material for things like the helmet, I mean is that a see-through visor, a screen, an opaque visor, metal, what? also it seems very similar to the male soldier in Unreal Tournament (or any other number of generic grunts) if this is for a faceless enemy it could work (though they should probably have some identifying mark or symbol) and it it's for the main character it just seems kind of generic and simple. |

ok, well the helmet is supposed to be tinted glass or plexi glass or whatever, like a motorcycle helmet. I know the glare on it is not so good hehe. As for the generic side of it, your right and yet your not. let me explain, in the game there is really no "main character", only a bunch of different classes like Team Fortress. so in a way it is sort of a generic grunt. on the other hand I don't want it to look to similar to unreal or quake or whatever, so what are some of your ideas for changing it? |

Looks good. Complete the drawing and colouring. I would like to see a dymanic pose and some different POV's.

Looks like a badass muda fucker, I couldn't help mucking around with it in PS, playing around with the dodge and burn tools, really makes that metal shine. Like to see the final.
also i just mucked around with the variations, put a blue tinge to it, this is fun.

visualseige- I wanted to thank you for seriously considering my crits, I'm no expert I'm just a 20 yr old who likes are and game design and I may very well be misguided with my opinions, so don't follow them like law merely because I like em. I think it is very good from a technical standpoint (not expert but clean well done and fairly accurate, with above-average skill) and I personally like the design changes. I hope you do too, but if not remember it's your character not ours. lastly, the only other advice in character design is to remember function of the character and evolve items, symbols, uniform and equipment around the character's backround, while (since I think your game is Multiplayer) remembering not too make many personalized (by the character not you) changes, as there will be many ppl playing with this one design, and it will seem dumb if they all have a tear in the same spot or the same sleeve rolled up or whatever. |

Very nice Visualsiege!!!!
I like his" torpedo-looks" very much, and the drawing is very well done.
A few things worthy of note:
The couple of small plates below his chest/under his arms seems hard to place and decipher, shape and positional-wise....
Perhaps a side view can help, bit it doesn't seem like you have put much thought into this area.
The "torpedo-look" is great but perhaps you could gain something by making some sort of dangling thingies like straps, ornaments og whatever (dunno if it's technically possible whith you engine or not though )
Thats all I have for now, great stuff !!!

vesuvius - you offered good crits, and thats exactly what I was looking for so I took them.
sukhoi - I think your right about the plates in the armor in the chest area, I will see what I can do to improve uppon it. As for the straps, I will give that a try as well, would probaby look nice Fur on the other hand does not really fit the character. the time setting is sort of like star wars, in the past but more technologicaly advanced, and besides that he should be plenty warm in leather and armor ya know
Swany - nice man, though the dodge seems to be a bit much in some areas in my opinion. Cool though, thanx for showing me your version.
Another thing, I have to add a touch of fantasy to this this guy, he looks a little to "futuristic". He will will be fighting other classes such as golemns, mages, snipers, etc. There is a wide range of classes so I have to sorta make them all fit together with fantasy/future feel. Any suggestion to make him look a little more fantasy without making him look "magical"?
Thanx to all who have given me such great crits and comments so far. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

about making him fit the setting more, you could try making the metal look worn or rusted. |

ok I worked on the mid section and the chest area a bit, trying to define him a little more. I also did a little work on the elbow area, to make him look like he has a little more movement ability. Tell me what you think. think I may have took the chest and mid section to far?

that looks amazing but I think you should stick with the green inbetween the metal plating, and if your going to make the head interchangeable make sure you add the first one, cause I'd deffinitly play with that one! |

I can run some ideas across you for the soldier. So far I like the suit and I was wondering how many varients its going to have like how many different helms or on one varient is one shoulder going to be bigger that then other to carry some sort of design or shield or ornament. Or bigger suit for heavy class models and what not. Or is everyone going to wer the same suit? Other than my questions I really like the suit! ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

though it would make it extremely humorous and "realistic" for him to whip it out and take a whiz, we probably won't include that in the game so he won't need it :P besides that who needs to take a whiz when their under enemy fire LOL |

I would need to take a whiz.
Who wouldn't?

I really like this concept, i wish though that the breastplates on the third picture would be bigger, like the second picture, everything else looks just great. |

these are very cool, I really like this style of futuristic armor, would like to see the finished sketches as well as a sort of "timeline" of how you went through it. Of course a few good renders of the finished skinned model would be nice too . |

HFS.... thats wicked looking. The skull helm reminds me of the robots from Mortal Kombat. I would look neat to see a version that has scuff & dings in the armor |

This a guy wearing armour, yeah? Or is it a robot? I ask because he's incredibly thin around the waist... more than anatomically possible perhaps, though you might be working with an "ideal" frame in mind. On his other parts there seem to be body underneath, which is a nice, working illusion. It is certainly progressing... |
