Part of a bigger picture I'm working on. Which do you think looks better, black or purple hair?

If this is part of a larger piece, I don't think anyone could give you a valid response. Consider it as part of the overall design. How do you want the finished work to look? What feeling are you trying to get across? Color impacts mood. Do some small color sketches to plan out the various elements.

Thanks for the response! Here's the full version. As you can see, I only have the base colors down right now. She's a modern geisha/assassin and she's supposed to be sexy and mysterious, but also lethal and has no qualms about doing whatever it takes to finish the job. Does that help at all? Thanks again.

I'd say black.... no ninja wants themselves to be seen and black blends in with dark pretty well...

unless of course she only attacks residents with purple surroundings..

A modern geisha assassin...ummm....it sound very exciting hehehe.

Hair color depends on the rest of elements of the image. If these have color i preffer purple hair, but if you make a dark b&w background i preffer the black one.
It the image that you show...purple wins.

black or purple...that's the question

I'm not quite sure what I want the background to be, so I'm open to suggestions. I was thinking maybe someone's private study with the victim behind her with a knife in his chest. Or maybe in a zen garden with cherry blossoms falling all around. I don't know, let me know what you think.

you could have a guy whos dead slumped over a desk with the blood dripping off the desk (which has writing stuff like ink wll and parchment and lots of little bottles on a shelf above the desk, you could even have some broken glass on the ground) and her walking off (at tourch lite)
