Ok, finally got the worst detail work done, the trees (never again) :P
I still haven't figured out what to do to make the picture more interesting as far as adding a character or something. The idea was to draw a forest though so maybe I should just stick with that? I don't know, anyway here it is.

You could put a lizard crawling up the log. |

A gold building behind the haze in the background? Something with some reflective surfaces but not to big? |

Put a little roundeyed girl sitting on the log next to the large leaves on the right, dangling her legs in the thick mist lying over the water (?) |

when i see the picture, I automatically think lizard on the log. So that'd work.. but has been done a thousand times (by the way nice picture so far)... I don't know why but I keep thinking monkey.

I think you should do an alien like animal just out in the haze, and that the viewer is like observing it from a distance. Kinda like a discovery channel doco. |

I'll have to go with Mr.T on this one.
Big mystical stoneheads from an ancient culture..alien or not
I also think it would add to the image if you could manage to squeeze in some colder colours...
Excellent work!

I like it with out anyother objects. I think it would be best done by adding more vegitation creating neat lighting effects.
just a thought.

Stone monument, megolith, statue...not fully visable.
Midground.
Partially obscured by mist.
(Stone bird, rising outstretched wings upon totem like piller?) |

how in the hell did you make that foliage... that's damn eye-popping. heh. i know you said "never again" but i'd be REALLY interested in how you achieved that realism |

I painted the silouettes of the leaves and filled them with gradients. Then I just went over each leaf by hand to give it some volume and shape.

brainstormin'-here are some ideas...
- a demolished industrial complex and a few dinosaurs around it?
- skulls on sticks
- lizard on a log and a guy with a spear trying to get himself a lunch
- weird contours of temples or something in the background
- a heavy metal concert . that would definitely add to dynamics of the picture |
