this is something i've been working on for a little while. its supposed to be a stained glass window of the "avatar" for a game project im working on.
after doing a tone of research on stained glass this is what i've come up with so far. i dont think the colors are right, but i like how the avatar is looking, as well as the background.
still are some smaller stuff to be added, but ill do that later. does anyone have some suggestions?

looking good. My suggestion is that for each plate of glass add some shimering effect. Most church stainglass is not flat like window pain glass. Second suggestion is that it is my experience that the fine details are usually painted on due to the size/scale.
hoped that helped

i agree with the others. try to use more saturated blue, green and red colors, those often appear in widows like that. i dont know if it was your intention, but the overall looks thin, it should look heavier, with a thicker frame and glass.
Nice job, and nice concept. id love to see what you make of it. |

you could also outline your figure with a thicker line, I remember seeing that in churches |

Much improved...
I love stained glass personally...
One thing you may want to consider is taking one or two of the brown areas and bringing them a bit more to red. Not necessary, but you're pushing the saturation of the other primaries in this, so I would introduce a bit more red.
Also... I'd take some time to give the iron-work a bit of a metal feel... not all reflective-shiny, but as if it were a decently sized and hefty piece of hammered metal, a bit of texture and sheen.
Hope you keep going on this, could be a great piece... please keep us posted. Agh... what a bad pun. |
