Hey everyone, im new to the digital art world. So i need help coloring this picture. Since medieval chicks are so popular to draw, i decided to do one too. I know the picture may not be all that great, but if somebody wants to give me some pointers in coloring and detailing im all ears because i dont even know where to start. If you want to color it yourself you are welcome, just let me know how you did it! i hope it works!

Not bad, but before you colour it, you might want to actually finish it. Usually,what I do, is pencil sketch (like what you have there) and then go in and detail it (armour, weapons, clothes, etc.), then once I get that and am happy with what I have, I go over the pencil with ink. I use a .05mm ink pen (bought at Wal-Mart), erase the pencil, scan it into Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro and go from there. If you are looking for a pretty good tutorial, try this one

If you don't have Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro from www.jasc.com is a pretty good (and free) substitute and you can use this tutorial with it as well.

| Thanks for your help! Oh yeah i dont have a scanner or a printer so its kinda hard. I also have to do everything with a mouse. I guess later ill get a WACOM tablet, but i dont know how much it helps |

| OK, i think i got it some coloring down but it still doesnt look that good. I used photoshop 6. I need to know how to make metal look like metal and not leather and also how to detail stuff a bit more. Tips and even adjustments are welcome. Well at least i have an idea on how to do leather. The comic type picture wasnt really what i was going for in the beginning, but rather more like a painting. updated picture of medieval babe or hag (which ever) |
