FOR UPDATES, LOOK AT THE BOTTOM. THX!

Hi folks!
Pro's recent descend onto these forums has enlightened all of us....Or has it? I'm afraid to post this update since I'm not sure weather I'll be banned to the four shadows thread
Anyways....i'd like to get some feedback on the lighting and anatomy first and foremost, but ofcourse any other comment or question, good or bad are also most welcome.

Bombs away.

Thanks
Sukhoi

IMHO, you need some darker shadows and also there are some foreshortening problems on his far arm. Our left, his right. Just pointing ouy what i see, =)

I really do like the head of the creature =)

wow.. that really looks amazing. when the rest of the body turns out like the head.. its going to be a great piece of work.
only crit. the legs are a tad close to the upper torso.

why the hell you've only got one star?
that is an outrage

Hi Sukhoi-

I'm not sure what you meant by your comment "or has it ?" My intention has been only to help others as well as learn from others myself. And when you say four shadows do you mean the four edges? These principles I talk about are not all mine. These are solid rules that work and have been around for hundreds of years. I'm just passing along to people information that I think may help them move forward. I'm sure your kidding and that you seem to me to be open to critiques. But lately I'm cautious about what I say and to whom.

This is really good. I thought the head that you did was just a coloring. Hmm, well it looks pretty good as far as anatomy except maybe the leg is a bit close to the torso but I guess in a creature as such it could be possible. Your rendering of the head is coming very good, very smooth and detailed. I bet this creature has to eat with care, if it tried to put something still alive in its mouth it could get an eye poked out.

Pro...I think Sukhoi was just taking precaution not to try and speak for everyone but clearly speaking that you have been enlightenment to him/her. And you have been for most of the artist here...both experienced and learning. I think Sukhoi said that He/She is afraid to post because they are not real sure if they have kept with the four edge rule and would be told to go back to the four edge thread and re-learn from beginning again...lol. Believe it or not, I too, also keep this in mind..hehe.

We artist (who want to learn) are like on a feeding frenzee <---(spelling) and when we hear someone is correcting with a better method we flock to get the good stuff. Don't worry about what you say...if I may, you have been an asset to me and I am glad you are aboard. I, for one, am having fun!!

Sukhoi, once again...I can't wait to see this tightened in...I'll save it to my peoples painting folder then on my HD.

Peace

yay...I love the way this thing's going!
I think that you should give the same type of treatment to the muscles on the legs as you did on the arms.

Another thing! I think you should consider giving him something that resembles a heel on his feet.

Thank guys, I'll look in to it when I get the time!

EviLToYLeT:
Darker shadows, I agree. I think this it because of a sh*tty monitorsetting, hehe.
And yes, the arm needs a lot of work.

Naz:
Thanks !!
Yeah the torso is a little weird. I did it on purpose though, I thought it would make him look a little more dramatic in some way.
The one star is because of the idiotic sarcastic answers I give from time to time I guess :\

Pro:
I my own case I tend to forget how bad sarcasm works online, I seem however, to notice it when others use it though. My comment on your prensence and guidelines where of the most flattering sort!!! "or has it" was pointing towards my insecurity regarding my lighting and the four edges rule. I was just anxious if I'd picked something up, or if I had to go back and read the "four edges" thread again.
I'm shure as proven above that you are the sort of mentor we all dream of having, and I am most sorry for any misunderstandings!!!! ("descend onto these forums" means Greg Pro = Drawing God ;D)

Indian_Prophet:
Hell no, I did it all
Thanks!
He perhaps has some sort of hard lid that glides infront of the eye when he bites, like a shark..
Thanks again

SporQ:
Thanks mate!

Novacaptain:
Shure I will give it the same allround treatment, in time And yeah, i think you are right about a heel of some sort...it looks a little odd.

BTW, hare's a closeup of the head:

I'll be getting back I have the time.
Cheers all!!!

No backup, so I guess it's all over with the crisp detail.....

Agh...I feel sick.....

Pity me, please.
No don't, I'm just a lamer, hahaha!

Hi Sukhoi-

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I would hate to step into someones work and critique unless they ask for it. My time is limited these days, but I enjoy helping and learning from my fellow artists. I'm overwhelmed and amazed by the response I have been getting. If only I had more time to get to everybody and still be able to continue my work and education at the same time. As it is now I'm having loads of fun and I get a charge out of people here getting enthusiastic over their projects. I say let's keep these flames burning!

I think this may help you:

Hi guys n' gals!

Yeah, this place has been buzzing lately, and a large part of the reason is you Greg!!
Make no mistake, you're one of the new mothers and/or fathers of the forum. It's you we'll be running to when we're down and.....Ok I'll stop now (Kinda like the lady bug in A bugs life)

Novacaptain:
Yeah, thanks, I will and I have.

Pro:
That is just plain good carma, man! (Some world nations ought to pick that up..)

Anyways, I will post the pic a it is now, in the state it was in before Pro's pointers. And then later on when I get the corrections or at least the ones I "feel right" about done. Yes?!

EviLToYLeT should like this better

Notice how he poses in a photostudio, "yeah, work it baby, looking good! love the camara!!"

Thanks all the way folks!
