I can tell you aren't thinking about the human body the right way. You seem to concentrate on the outlines. Remember, the body is a mass in space. It has sides and planes just like a collection of boxes.
Here, a sketch is worth a thousand words:
Bridgman's books are the best for capturing this way of thinking. Look at the pencil studies and charcoal sketches of master artists and it becomes clearer.

Your figures need more depth. You need to make your lines suggest that. |
