This is a giant I'm going to make in 3D using Rhino. I've already completed 65% of the model and I'd love to hear what you have to say. I'll post the model in a few secs and try to keep in mind that I started out only planning on making his head. The body was created many weeks later.

Rhino is great for making characters, I can turn out two or three on a really good day.

So, this is what I have so far. The block is there just for show. So, any suggestions?

Thanks. Well, Rhino 2.0 is a hefty $800US if you're not a student (they get it for about $200US). I love it. I make all my models with it. Now if I can only convince them to include an IK system!

Thanks again. I thought about adding the musculature...it would be pretty darn cool looking...but then I realized that he's kinda flabby and it wouldn't really be too realistic for his arms to be so buff and his gut to be so not. Still, if you view him from the side (I'll see if I have a shot of that) he's kinda mucular but not too muscular ya'know?

Nah, I don't. When I give him lower regions, I'll do a render from the side too. So, we like him so far, then? Great. I plan on elongating his legs a bit and making them fit his frame a bit more. It's the only change I think would be needed but it's good to hear more than my opinion.

perhaps most of that will pan out with the texture process but I like that nose, the little extra at the bottom is from the weight of the 10 1/2 lb gold nose ring that will be on the final character man render...hehe, kidding..but that part at the bottom is unique and makes for better design concept.
Your right that program is cool, or is it that your talent is cool?
Peace

Thanks alot!

The renders don't actually show the model's details too well, I guess. The face has pretty sharp cheek bones and I agree that the ear area needs a bit of work. The mouth is shaped the way it is because I had a design change as I was modeling (something I do sometimes)...he'll have some catfish-like mustache things haning from it and ths shape will make it easier. Maybe a few warts or something well spice him up too?

Thanks to one and all. Have a look at a few former models of mine (also done in Rhino).

Tauntaun

Anubis...with minor arm troubles.

I remember seeing the early head on Renderosity, sure has gone a long way. Looks awesome.

pretty cool.. i'd love to see it in motion.
i think the head needs some more work- most of it is too smooth , and some areas like the ears, bottom of the nose and the corners of the mouth need some reshaping.
