I did this guy on one layer with my friend's tablet in about twenty minutes. Being not much for digital sketching, I was surprised at how very, VERY fun it turned out to be (no news to you creative folk, of course) ... : )

It's 40Kb, thanks to the piss-poor compressors of Photoshop 5.0 (friend is way behind in the nologies, sorry). Criticism welcomed!

(Note -- sketch composed to the music of Mea Culpa, Prodigy.)

and if i remember my own experience, now you'll definately want to get one, right? *nods* =p

Once you have your hand son a tablet, you'll never want to let it go I like this one.. It has a lot of movememnt in it and the color choice is really effective (not many use white on black background)

The lower part of his body is a bit odd but this is just a sketch, so I'll just ignore that. I'm a really messy sketcher myself and have sometimes a hard time trying to figure out what all the 1000 lines mean...

Not a fan of Photoshop 5.0, are you??!

Ha! But then .... guess who forgot to log out from the friend's computer? Heh heh.

The sketches remind me of the black-scratch board shit that we had back in junior high for making white-on-black pictures. You ought to post more of them.

nice lines and proportions you've got in that little time.. when looking at it, I thought I saw a demon, with long reddisch black hair, human torso, horse legs and a tail whipping to the front while the fire and lava is breaking through under his hoofs...

I'm not sure what type it is, but it's in the $70-100 range from what she said -- Sasha, the girl who owns it. It's also a year old, though she just broke it from the wrapping recently. A man gave it to her and said she'll want a better one (it's 8x6in or something close), and that when she gets it she must GIVE the old one away, just as he gave it to her.

I'm bugging her every day now to hand it over, to buy something else, bwey hey. You can ask her more about it at [email protected] .

Thanks for the crits, all!

$70-100 range sounds like the wacom graphire...

i remember the first time i opened my intuos 6x8 and was unsure of what it would feel like to be drawing on the tablet with the output onscreen, but was surprised at how intuitive it was...

i really like that sketch... like solanya said, it has a lot of movement, and the color choice is definitely cool... adds a lot to the impact...

Aiptek, 6x8 tablet. It came with a pact that it can never be sold, only given away, and then only to someone that will make better use of it than the previous owner; it is NOT a worthless thing that needs to be replaced. The only reason I'd continue it down the chain is to get a bigger one, which I don't want because I have neither the space or need for one. This little guys is the perfect size and function -- The 6x8 surface is fine as far as long graceful lines. I don't know how nit-picky the dudes with the huge tablets are, but when I need long, graceful car-lines and such I can zoom out to my heart's content and edit. The best thing about these things are the simulation of drawing or painting on paper, which is due largely to the pressure sensativity and brush settings in whatever program you're using.

You can look at my exact model here: Aiptek

well ty for the site, but give me more credit, i mean do you really think i've on looked at wacom boards considering their cost and size? I saw the apitek already. I didn't know if it worked with ps because they give you a bunch of crap programs to use with it so i thought it only worked on them. But if it does work with ps i have to reconsider this wacom issue.

bye bye for now!

Haha, its great, reminds me of my first sketch (it was crappy, and done last year... There is a definit learning curve before you can produce anything worthwhile)

Trust me, it gets easier.

oh, and if ya want to check out my first wacom sketch go here:
