hey there
i came up with the idea to create a simple comic character that should be realized in 3d (3dsmax) later on, and liked the idea of an animal similar to a lizard or a gecko (called "rico").
it should be wearing a shirt and may act human-like, so i started a quick sketch in PS and coloured it roughly.
comments/crit/feedback greatly appreciated!
would be great to hear your opinions, since i might apply changes then (instead of continueing with a rather goofy looking character)...
thanks 4 support!
gruss,

I think maybe the feet might be to big if it was going to act like a human, that's my humble opinion. |

hmm.. the whole thing should have a 'cute touch', so i thought big feet might look more cartoonish than tiny feet.. but maybe i'm wrong with that.
so thanks for the idea SWANY, i'm going to size them down a bit to look more 'human'.

looks good to me. it's p-koenig's own design for a humorous character. I think the big feet should stay. it makes the character kinda unique in it's own way.
heh. i don't think p's idea was to make a human-lizard. doesn't have to look human to act human.

look's fine dude. i think outlines are a little too strong in my point of view, but maybe that's the way a comic-like character has to be. the eye looks cool, a little evil .
the way his lower body and the feet stand on the groud look a little strange.
keep up ur work, i like it.

xor: yea you're right, it should stay more lizard like rather than human... though i hope that the t-shirt applies some kind of a 'human touch'
got 2 c about the large feet issue..
viewer: thx
the lineart is actually supposed to be kinda bold coz i think it makes it more 'cartoonish'.. when the model is realized in 3d later on, it needs an outline anyway.
but what's wrong with the feets' positions?
website: hmm.. the lack of time problem... maybe sooner or l8r
more stuff: think so

Hi there,
Maybe you could swap the "claws" with "friendlier" suction-cup feet ( and fingers ), that way he could be dancing in the ceiling ( like Lionel Richie heheh )
Just a suggestion ...

hey swany,
i was not talking about the feets size. in my eyes the positioning of each foot to eachother seems wrong. while the upper body is fine the right foot of rico seems to walk to the upper left of the image just as he stood on an angle or so.
but maybe i am wrong.
so don't be angry
