This is a char i am working on atm.
Trying to find a quick coloring method i can use in ps.
Anybody have any links too some "good" tutorial on a "quick" coloring method.
The pic needs to look finished. Main prob i have with coloring in ps is that when i start shading my pics looks messed up and never finished.

Well i am no 1 to ask about "coloring" but I will try to help with the pic. Ok I think it looks amazing until i scrolled down to the legs, i think i know what you tried to make them into but i'm not sure either way i think regular legs would make the pic alot cooler look, but hey its your pic so do whatever you want. Thats the main thing i don't like, the pic is awesome though. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

nice drawing, it will be cool to see it finished.
the way i usually color is by laying all my base colors down first for the whole image.
once im happy with those, i start adding shadows and highlights.
im not sure if there is a "quick" way of doing it though. i guess it depends on the style of coloring u want.
for example, anime usually has solid shadow and highlights, not really any bluring or smudges. i think its called cell inking or something like that. |

another new "expiriment" with cel-coloring.
Feel free too comment =)
This pic took me about 30 mins.
drawing was done with regular pencil, then inked. Scanned tweaked the brightness-contrast too get rid of the pencil lines.
Then all there was left was the coloring.
Starting too like this cel-coloring method.

Just a quick tip: if you're looking for commentary on other pictures you post, reusing the same thread usually won't get you the same exposure as creating a new one. That last one you posted has something wild going on with the colours there, very interesting it is. |

Thx for the tip
I will post my "finished" stuff under a new post.
But making a new thread for every doodle i make seems too be a bit like spamming.
i posted these in the same thread since they are all done in the same drawing-painting session.

This time made a drawing on brown pastel paper. Just a line sketch.
Scanned it and made some layers with diff effects and stuff. Dont have a clue what i all did. But the result looks kinda like a regular pastel drawing.

Well - new work again.
This time i spend a bit more time drawing and coloring - experimenting with multiplayer layers in photoshop.
Mainly trying out multiplayer-layers and what happens when i color beneath it.
The paper i used was again the brown pastel paper.
Here is the sketch i made.
And here is the photoshop part.
I am not very content about the colors.
The multiplayer makes the colors go dark.
But i guess that cause i used the brown paper.
Gonna try and find a way too keep the "structure of the paper and try and find more effect/tweaks with diff paper types.

This is a pretty good quick colouring tutorial and holds more of a comic book feel to it. I haven't had the chance to use it much, but I have tinkered around with it on some of my work.
Nice pic of yours, I hope this helps.Quick colouring tutorial |
