Hey ivey! havent talked at you in some time. What you been up to?
I personally like #3 the best. The way her pose has blended the curves on her body. It gives a very smooth slender soft look but at the same time causes the more defined shapes to be strong looking yet delicate. Like her neck and cheek bone. And with the way the hair looks now even with the few lines I looks very soft and floaty, like it's just been tossed up.
I kinda get the image in my mind. Likes shes in a lush quiet forest taking a break next to motionless pond. Stroking or washing her long red hair. It's slighly misty with colourful ambient lighting. And I like the idea about tattoos, but have you considered body paint? Mabye try a more tribal feel, with leafy style clothing. And off my mind wonders =)
In all, it makes up to a well contrasted look that causes the eye to run up and down and in swirls all over.
Shes beautiful =)!

I'd say the second has the most potential. It is natural and well drawn and somehow it feels as if there was a story attached to it
#1 and #3 are good as well, but #2 just stands out.. |

Its sad how people get replys like this because of a "REAL" picture. Maybe I should post nude pictures of my girlfriend with my pieces...that way I can get replies too!
Not saying that she did this to get replies. Anyway, I am sure she is tired of hearing that she is pretty, sexy, hot or whatever else you guys are gunna say. Havent you guys ever been to a thing called a "beach"? You will see about 55,000 women that look just like that image. (some even have smaller bikinis!!!! )
I personally like the 3rd one. Go with it...the 2nd one looks like a playboy picture. The first one to me is a little weak. The third one I think has a better pose and more emotion. (although it does have that fresh clean shower feeling) But you can get over that when you start rendering it. |

Yeah, I wouldn't post lingerie pics of yourself. I know I wouldn't post pictures of MYself in a bikini on the web ^_^ . Come to think of it...I was in a bikini once in high school. I played the role of "The Woman" in Death of a Salesman. Course, I had it on over my regular clothing. Anyway, for clothing in your pic, why not think of the character as small, and fashion some petals or leaves around your character? Sorta like one of those 1700s France style dresses, but softer, less baudy, and more natural and flowing. Some flowers have petals shaped right for that anyway. |

Hello,
I like the second and the third drawings especially. Make sure to note the anatomical landmarks in your drawing (shoulders, clavicles) if you are going for a realistic style.
You seem to like elongated forms, and it shows in your style and previous work. Don't worry about abandoning your anime style, what you are going to do is revisit it with new eyes. You will always naturally go towards a style you like, as we take mental notes of the things we react to emotionally.
I wish I could get a model with your build for the painting I'm working on. It's a wedding present and the characters are the bride and groom, so I can't ask them to pose; as it is a surprise.
I asked a friend of mine to pose and she's the worst model in history (no attention span, can't stay still for a _picture_). And her build is completely different. But I digress...
Anyway, continue working, and be happy when a teacher forces you to try a style unlike your own; you can only get better from it.
sincerely, |

What the hell? Why don't you just ask her if she wants to model for your painting, tdl?
That had to be the most obvious subtlety I have ever seen. :P |

Corn Pops,
I would not ask her because she is not my friend, nor do I know her. I was just venting, mainly because I got back my pictures from being developed like 5 min. before posting; and all the pictures are worthless... It was just a comment, and to be taken as such. I've got two more weeks to finish that painting, and I'm having trouble figuring out the drawing, so i'm a bit stressed-out. Also, I haven't gotten a single comment, which makes you wonder how people are relating to the piece.
Anyway, sorry for posting even more comments not relating to your drawing |

Hmm I like the first one and the third one.
The second one seems a tad too cliched. Just maybe the stance.
The first one reminds me of Morrigan from Darkstalkers, overall I like the form and style of the third one the best. Adding wings to the third one could also be cool.
Anyway, keep us posted as you finish the piece. Kick ass work.
PS> Cool picture too, heh couldn't resist. |

nice
you sure don't see that everyday !
lol just kidding
i like the third the best, it has alot of movement and feeling in it.
then again, it all depends on what type of atmosphere and story your trying to tell. |

Hahaha! I'd love to take a photo-session of her. She's definitely worthy of my "rusty" camera.
In fact, I believe I can do her justice like no one has done before. I'm actually quite surprised why no one has taken any serious photo-sessions of her. Maybe someone has, we just don't know it.
Hey Ivey, any worthy photographer's done a session of you yet? |

I think i like the first one best, but, with people talking about the second one being cliche and all, Boris Valejo did a fairy picture with almost the exact same pose as the first one i think. |

I get nice and nasty responces everytime I post a pic *rolls eyes*. Oh well.
Lunatique: I haven't had anyone take pics of me in a session since I was 14 and I modeled. I take my pics with a digital camera, and a timer. ;]
Synj: wow.. what can I say? You know just how to make a girl feel.. umm.. lovely. So thanks. Anything to get a rise out of you. I would retaliate with my own drawings, but I am afraid my humor is rather dry.
Jelo: Actually, I really liek your color jobs ;] Thank you. And No... Ivey from SoulCalibur wasn't my inspiration.. its my name ;]
I think I am going to go with #3 for the final project. |

Jelo: Brilliant work.
With all due respect to Ivey, and to the members of Sijun.com's forum, I've used the reference photo to piece out a weird little thing that just was tugging my brain for a while. If there's any objection, I'll take these down.
