Wip, about 40 min so far.

Not bad. Some things I noticed - there is a pretty dramatic contrast between the highlighted whites and the base reds on the hat... But most of the hat is the whiter color, giving it a 2D look. You might want to try and round it out a bit more, especially the flop over thing. Also, the red shading around his nose makes it look like it's broken.. I'm not sure if there's some light source that that's supposed to be coming from, because I see it reflects off the bottom of his nose and the underside of his upper eyebrow... but nowhere else. Might wanna make that a little more clear.

Cool picture though, I like your sketching style.
