This girl is in an image I posted a while ago.
The Complete Image
I had some crits both on and off Sijun saying that the girl's face looking a little wrong. So I've posted up these sketches of possible "revamps" I could give her.
Could you guys pick out the face you think looks the best for her? Crits and suggestions are appreciated as well.

Actually I like D... and I don't think it looks like a guy at all
The expression is just more interesting than the others to me, and she has more character. It also looks like you spent a little more time on it. :] |

Jezebel - I was hoping you'd post, since realistic female faces seems to be your specialty!
I guess I thought the eyebrows were too masculine. That face was the last one I drew, and I "borrowed" the nose from an asian girl I saw on the train.
BiGJoN - I've been working as a 3D digital artist for one and a half years. |

If you smoothed out the jaw in D to look more like what you got with G I think it would be perfect. |

D's nose, lip and jaw bone
E's hair
and G's rest of face.
Honestly I 'liked her the way she was. |

lol- Yeah Highfive I think all your new versions are great. The main problem with the old one is the nose. But you've solved that with all your new sketches.
Faces are weird- a millimeter nudge of a line can change the whole look and expression. And pretty girls are even trickier because you have understate the nose and emphasise the eyes and the lips.
But you've already done that and made six good new sketches in the process. |

Being a subject I certainly enjoy (face and pretty girls) I just had to get in on this thread. I like the majority of them though I think the tilt to the eyebrows in C not to mention the soft flow of her right eye give her more of a worried/frightened expression. My personal favourite is A, everything looks just right about it, though it is probably a bit too kindly of a look for the picture. After staring at D for awhile, I could get He-Man out of it, but still looks more like a girl. The expression to E. is the most daring of them all in my opinion, especially with that one lock of hair falling just beside her right eye. I don't really think you have much chubiness to worry about there, though I think you might want to tuck in that line next to her lips on the side of her face. Hmm ... and personally I think G looks more Asian than B, though the hair makes me think more Egyptian for some odd reason. Well hope this helps some or is at least amusing. Coffee... |

Really? To make a girl pretty you have to do those things?
I think Trinity from the Matrix is a pretty good example of how a woman doesn't have to have full pouty lips, a perky upturned nose and giant eyes to be attractive or sexy.
I don't think you were meant to be taken quite so literally, since you're just talking about drawing. But I felt the need to point out that in order to make a girl pretty, you don't have to do the things you mentioned |

I also think that a combination of d and g would look best but your newest face is a little to wide? I don't know how to explain so I painted a version too.
Sorry it doesn't really look like your girl anymore and I don't know if it's better or worse but perhaps it provides you some other inspiration.
Sorry for my bad English, should take out my old grammar book again.

Wow! What a response!
Jabberwocky - thanks for pointing out those features *chuckle* but after all this, you like the original one anyway? Guess she didn't look that bad!
FireFry- I did?
nil900 - thanks for your vote. Our net connections bollocks again today so I can't see your pic. I'll chack it out when I get home.
Gothic Gerbil - Whoa, I really appreciate that explanation what you read from these sketches! Never think you might be blowing your trumpet when you write that. It's just what I'm looking for. Your choice on A is duely noted.
Everyone loves this lock of hair on E! I thought everyone would hate it!
Kari and Jezebel - I strongly agree with your point, Kari, but I believe that in real life, girl's faces tend to do that as well. Err, let me elaborate!
It's like when someone takes a photo of you from a wrong angle or when the shadows are coming from a strange direction. Your beautiful eyes might get hidden in shadow, but your nostrils stand out instead.
Jezebel, Carrie Ann Moss is very pretty in all of her roles (my girlfriend thinks she's the ultimate babe) but to me it's not the same as the glamorous types like Jennifer Lopez, for instance. I think getting the beauty of Carrie Anne Moss in a single, unreferenced sketch would be much harder than if it were Jennifer Lopez. I can't describe what that difference is, though. Does anyone know what I mean? |

Here's some girl elves that look similar to what you are going for... thought a ref might help a little:Elf
and
Group
Maybe those could help... but yeah I liked the first one... All you needed to do was add glow to her staff!

nil900 - Thanks for that example! I can see how your version is narrower. It doesn't have as wide a gap between the left ear and the left ear, which is probably correct.
I also like the way you've draw the bottom of the nose. It displays the nostils and most of the nose shape, yet I'd still class that face as "beautiful". |
