this is an old man who was our model in figure drawing, he had a great expression, so I scanned in my image and am painting it in, critiques needed. thanks

Looks good, but I think you should change the eye a bit because it looks a bit flat.

The eyes are totally wrong, use a photograph of a person as referance. The forhead doesn't look right either and you need to add some read to the model. Other than that, its coming along fine. |

great shading, great coloring(so far).
how do you let it look like a real painting? there is no sign of digital brushstrokes. |

i think that a problem over all is that there isnt enough value range, like in the hand there isnt enough dark tones, so it looks amorphous, and the robe you cant see the folds well. |

thanks for the feedback, its helping out a lot. As for the questions about its smoothness, I use the smudge tool and touch up a little with the airbrush after the colors have been laid down. |

another questiong to those who said the eye is wrong, is it just the way the eye ball is colored in or is it the overall shape?
