I'm trying to do a painting of a waterfall, but I've been having some trouble with the water and making it look realistic. The forest to the left side of the waterfall is very basic, and I'm not really sure where thats going. I've also contemplated putting a person or animal on the rock to the right near the water, but I have yet to try it. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated
one last attempt to get the image to work

I would try to assist you if I could see the image. I'll check back later if you can get that fixed. |

Geocities doesn't allow image linking Duran.
I checked out your pic and it's pretty nice, you can definitely tell what it is and it shows movement well. I think however that it doesn't have much atmosphere, a lot of that may have to do with the fact that you used black in all your shadows. Try using a lower saturated color that's not quite so dark and it might help ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Heya, i did a quick edit (sorry if you didn't want anyone to) on your pic. I'm not the greatest at water but should give you an idea
anyways, basically get some rocks in there and have the water bouncing off, make your follage(sp) look a bit more wet with some hard highlights here and there, same goes for the rocks back there in the darkness on the left. Have the water overshoot around your grass hill there and make the water more detailed with some actual droplets and a nice textured look, add some mist for atmosphere and tada!
You're off to a great start And I'm confident yours will look much better then my edit.
keep up the great painting.. |

I was going to say add some misty feel to it, but DiGGySpiFF summed it up very nicely. |
