I can't seem to figure out what is wrong with this pic. It's my first try at a realistic looking female character, and I just don't seem to want to finish it. Tips?

pretty cool man. It seems to be a bit skewed though.. the hips are out of proportion, and well.. one is a lot bigger than the other. Also her arms are really really skinny. Of course this might be the kind of style your working.. but you mentioned you were going for realistic so I thought i'd lend a hand ;-) Good job

I think the hips are fine ...

But her arms looks strange. She gor really wide shoulders if they connect to them underneath there somewhere but very thin arms.

Perhaps it is because the staff that she is leaning on has no solidity and seems very light. Extend the image so you can ground the staff. Also show some of the staff above her could create a concreateness.

What i think i sworng is that her pose and her way of dressing and the hairstyle screams "young", like she is a teenager but her face is that of an mature woman. Thats what's bothering me.

hey i like your colors. and dont mind the hips so much, but it bothers me that she looks a bit Lara Croft-ish.
