so here is my first try at something realistic, as i usually draw anime-style, and then i realized i suck at noses. of course i'm not that great with the other areas of the face but the nose is the worst. please help! i know the edges are a little blurry, its not done yet. and also i didn't plan the face out so everything is a little crooked...

Like the hair, but the nose is way too long, try shortening it, and try not to have it so defined, hint at the tonal changes caused by the light and show the nostril under a slightly upturned nose end, typical of a girls face. hope this helps..:-) |

I think it's the highlights on the hair that are blowing the whole thing awry. They make the hair look like a top view, as if the top of her head were tilted up. This causes confusion about where the top of her head actually is, making the eyes seem too high (but really they're in the right place. If you divide the bottom half of a face in half again, that quarter mark should be between the nose and mouth I think. At least it is on me. You might try widening the nose a little too so that its outside edges at the nostrils would touch a line drawn down from the inside edges of the eyes.
Try setting one strong light source. This could help you get teh highlights on the hair and other places correct. Also do some self-portraits paying attention to proportion and values, and draw portraits of other live people. Then adapt the lighting and proportions you learn from those studies to your anime style.
