It's a work in progress...so the edges haven't been really cleaned up yet. I sketched a dragon on the airplane a few days ago...used that as reference for painting this. It's a pretty boring shot, being profile and all, but any ideas or comments are very much welcome.

Looks good, what medium are you using? Looks like watercolor mixed with something else.
You could make his eyes more evil or reptile looking, just to give him some edge. He looks more like some dinosaur puppy with those eyes.

Better or worse?
That's a good suggestion edible snowman. A fight scene or dual something. Hmm...will give it a go.
Svanur: Thanks! This is pure photoshop goodness I'm still playing with the eye...can't quite get it looking fierce enough.
I'm also looking for any thoughts on colors...texture...possible background...lighting?
*edit: can't type today =/

More contrast.
dark shadows and bright highlights should improve this pic by 100%. |

As other, more muscle definitions...
I would more see a mortal agony or a lord execution...his eyes expression and movement are good for this style of scene. |

I love the translucency of the skin. Like I'm looking through several layers. |

Thanks for all the comments. I think it's finally getting there. Only improvements I think I could make are on the area below the big horns on the neck there. What do you think?
Thanks for all the help,

The neck is looking a little flat too. I'm working that out as well ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Cool detail. But it looks happy and smiling - not fierce at all.. |

Well, its nice and all but I think the neck is a little too thick and whats-the-word... un-agile or something.. I just cant come up with a better word for it, Personaly I think Dragons should be a bit more slender and elegant, but hey, good overall work man..
Did that come out a bit too negative...?
Hope not.. |
