after having finished dreammachine I, I sat down and looked through my backup cds to decide which of my unfinished pieces I would jump on next. there are 3 pieces which I have decided to work more on, this one is one of them, might be posting the other two later on. The rest of my unfinished stuff is just too old/crappy to devote the time to them.
Anyways, this one is actually the oldest of the 3 and was done before I got my wacom pad, so it's all mouse (and even a bit of trackball if you believe that). There's one more on the three I mentioned that is mostly mouse as well (some wacom on it, minimal though)which might be the next one in line.
I can't tell if its THAT dark really, this monitor is dying quickly
I'll post the progress of this one as I get more work done, and as always, comments/suggestions/critique are always welcome.

Wow, it looks great. I love this style because I've been drawing something like this (with pencil) for a long time. But in this picture, some areas are more blurry than the others, and that looks kind of weird. Maybe that's because your monitor is dying? ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

The fact that it isnt recognisable as anything organic but has organic structure really forces you to appreciate all the curves and shapes on the object =)
Absolutely brilliant...thing? =)
>>Thing? After checking out the filename...larve....i can dig that....looks as though it could burrow into someone / something at will? =)

ok worked a bit more on the head area:
The reason its so blurry in many parts is that its not done
as to the larvae name....thats actually what I call my unfinished works . Although this one seems more fitting of that name. It is loosely based on something I saw in a dream (yah, they ARE that freaky) and early in its development I started to adapt it to a character idea for some space game I was working in, but that project didn't get anywhere, mainly because of the lack of any experience of almost everyone involved (including myself). Anyways, this piece had gone back to its original roots before I abandoned, a bit over a year ago.
Thanks for the comments guys! I'll try to keep posting some of the progress as it goes. |

here is a little bit of progress:
>> edit: better quality jpg
Its been taking me forever, I have been really busy latelly but I want to finish this one soon.
I decided to change the 'tail' as I didn't like the previous shape much, and decided for it to be a bit 'meaner'
C/C on the progress are always welcome

That is looking awesome. Like others have already said, it is a very unique style. I like the new tail, I would love to see what this things would look like as a grown up thing... I imagine it sorta like "ALiens" , but that has been done. Keep it up. |

Wow that really looks cool, nice style.
But I think there is a little perspective problem in your pic. The "chin" is painted in a different angle than the lower part (tail) i think.
If I'm wrong please tell me and I'll go to the doc and get myself some glasses . |

argh!
your right, so thats what has been bothering me so much lately.....
it looks as if its head is turned flat on its side and the body is on an angle...
Still some to learn about perspective as you can see, any tips on how i could 'fix' this, even though i know it could mean lots of redoing on the head.
and thanks man, after all, the reason for me posting this here is so that I can continue learning |
