I just want to post this to ask you people what do you think of it so far. I am painting this using Open Canvas.

very cool so far, no pardon my ignorance but what is open canvas?
My only gripe is where the head is, I know it is still in progress but there seems to be something odd about it, there is not enough definition where the shoulders meet and helmet seems a bit off, besides that it's looking really nice. |

Thanks Vgta, I'll try to define the helmet clearer.
Open Canvas is a program that Zekie posted on Digital Art Discussion. http://www.sijun.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=001533
I heard it's kind of similar to Painter (of course, I also heard Painter has way more functions). But this one is small, and has pretty good watercolour effects. I used mouse to paint this so I'm pretty impressed with the program. |

This is coming along very nicely. The helmet/head needs some work, but it looks like it has a lot of potential right now. It seems like the head is a little small for the body, so you might want to show a nose poking out or something. heh i downloaded open canvas a while ago, and never touched it. I am prolly gonna go take a look at it now...
Oh yeah, did you scan the line art in or use open canvas? Its pretty good for mouse work. Using your mouse is NO fun, let me tell you that heh. |

Rather than go through a long-winded text explaination, here's a quick doodle. No doubt I've introduced a few errors of my own, but you get the gist of the idea.
Note the new head size, the adjusted leg (to better carry the weight if his other leg is going to be bent), the modified shoulder pad to reflect a little perspective and slightly longer upper arm length for taste.
Hope this helps more than it confuses.
