Hey people
After reading The Hobbit for the first time, I decided take a shot at portraying the goblin. I usually will say that I hate fantasy and will probably do no more fantasy based images (except for Golum which I'm working on now) but since the hobbit was so great, I decided to take a swing at it. If you've read the post in the "finished section" this is old news.
I know I already posted an extemely rough version of this in the finished section but I decided to start working on it again. This version is a little cleaner and more detailed. I know that one of the legs has issues and I just noticed this, but his hands aren't alligned properly and it looks really weird since he's holding that staff.
What do you think? Any and all constructive critizism would be appriciated. Thanks.

Are you still going to color this? I think that, like you said, some simple coloring to do it like a concept piece would be very effective. And give us a little bit of an environment for him to be in?? |

Yes I am going to color it. I just decided to clean up the black and white just a little. I really wasn't pleased with the quality of my first scan. I think my Umax is dying slowly and painfully. I was thinking about making it sort of a real pale tan color with brown blotchs or discolorations here and there. Later I was thinking on putting it in maybe a eerie swamp type background. I have some issues with the legs to fix first though. Everyone at the TeamGT forum thinks it looks like it's about to tip over. |

Here's a quick color rendering of it. I changed the foot a little so maybe that helps the situation with the leg. It looks more like it's pushing off that standing paralel with the other. What do you think?
edit: forgot to post the image. Oh yeah, by the way. Rate me... On second thought, I probably do deserve a one. :edit

No one has a single thing to say?
By the way, Thanks Ken. I'm working on putting it on a background, but first I have to crop off all of those stupid white edges off the color layer because I was dumb enough to paint directly on the canvas!
...And yes... I do have a sign by my bed that says pants first THEN shoes.
