Just received a new bunch of assessments at QANTM on Tuesday, one involving the 3d modelling of ourselves. We also have to skin and animate it. Kewl, eh? @:-)

Anywho, here it is so far...

Still need to attach the head and do some detailing/optimising, but feedback is welcomed.

Oh, the head prolly looks weird as it's only half of it. @:-)

the legs look pretty good, but you need to spend some work to the chest or better the whole torso ^^

erm.. forgive my lack of knowledge, but what program do you use?

edit: on the 2nd look the torso seems a bit too tall, and the lower arms are too short ^^

I'll post the ref pics I'm using to make this model soon. I'm using a projection box method, meaning that I have a box with photos of me textured on each face, then I model from that. I was wearing a footy jersy, so that may explain some reasons behind biceps being too big etc.

Dragoon: Program I used was 3d Studio Max 3.

Tendril: Yeup, doing the game course. Tis pretty goodly indeed, lots of fun stuff to be had. @:-)

Its looking ok, you need to fix the the shoulders... and the crouch or your going to get a wierd pinching when you animate it.

Hi

I think this reference archive will be of use for you Brain

Shine's Reference Archive

I use it for drawing muscles on my Quake 3 skins and when I dabble with 3d studio max

Hope that helps

Everything's attached now and it's looking slightly better. Detailing still needs to be done. And the ref pics I'm using:

Sap: Yeup, the crotch still needs to be... fixed (y'know, I thought alot about what word to use there, but whatever it was, it still sounded suss @;-)

Chunkey: Thanks for the link. I'll check it out more thoroughly later.

Freddio: Yes, yes I am. @:-)

Hey, here's a current me:

I was planning to post a post-UVW mapped version, but I screwed it up a tad, but the model has to be built and textured by the 20th, so you'll see it then-ish. @:-)

After mucho banging of the head against yon desk, I finally got my UVW mapping done, and now I'm texturing my bitch up. Base colours only at the moment, but you get the idea.
