hi again!
congratulations for your good work, pals, keep it up!
i'm going to participate in a 2d graphics competition, to be held in a demoscene (scene.org) Party here in Spain (www.euskalparty.org). The deadline is very near, about in a week, and i haven't too much free time to work in the image, so i'm in a bit hurry and like always, it would be nice some support!
here it is. Don't pay much attention to the head, since i guess it will be changed more than once..
What about..
...the body proportions?
...the position (pose)?
...the composition of the image? (i guess i'm not going to put anything complex more, just a simple background..)
well, i supose you can give me tips about the head/face/NOSE!, also
once again, thanks!
i promise to post updates to the image, at least one each two days, so stay tuned!

well.. it looks like she got two sticks stuck into her back, not like ripped wings.. you should look how wings of birds are connected to their bodies.. and maybe you should lay the ripped wings next to her =\ |

Well I was going to reply with just words, but I could quite find the right ones to use, so here's my critique visually.

hi,
yep, all you're right; those aren't like wings, i'll mend it..
BlackPool:
i've tried to draw her right knee like you say, but i was afraid of the people wondering 'what the heck is that over her left leg?' .. but i see its better.. thanks.
about the red line in her right shoulder, i dont agree with you.. i guess that she is so bended over that that 'piece' of arm is not visible... maybe..
thanks (i'll check bird's wings, i promise XD) |

Hi! Nice work, not too much to add to what's already been said, other than that you may want to check out "Dogma", a film by Kevin Smith. In the final scenes there are not 1 but 2 angels who have their wings shot off. Really, what you're missing is some feathers just hanging on to the stalks. The movie can show you some reference, if you can find it
Good Luck! Nice work!

yeah, pretty everything is said...
another interesting reference pic with an angel might be the cover of the cd "spiritual black dimensions" of dimmu borgir.
i'm sure you can find it at some kind of cover archive... |

LOoks pretty sweet =D I like the simple look it has.
I agree with the "two sticks in the back" comment. I'm not sure how you'd get away with it though with the simple line work style your using.
I would move the wing stubs up to her shoulder blades. Atleast thats the theory on where they would be if wings were on a human. You could then control them with those bones and muscles. But just a theory, you can do whateva' ya want of course.
Any updates to this image?

Try placing some scattered feathers around on the ground aswell, then people will know straight away that they were Angel wings. |

it might be cool also if you add some larger feathers falling down in the foreground. |
