Hey all.
This is a short animation I did for an assignment at uni.
animation
Its divxed so it should be pretty small. Tell me if it doesnt work.
I handed it in like this because I was running out of time, but i would like to perfect it a bit before I put it on my website.
The sound sucks I know, Im going to totally redo it. Does anybody know where I can get good sound effects of footsteps and bumps and stuff? I recorded these myself and theyre fuzzy and sound wrong and they suck.
I would like crits on the actual animation though, tell me beits that I need to work on.
Its my first attempt at facial animation to so I kept it simple.
thanx. |

wow that's really great! The guy has alot of feeling and character. For the complexity of the scene and what you were trying to accomplish, I'd say you couldn't do any better than that. Great work....and funny too! |

That's pretty cool.
The changes in stance, where he shifts from foot to foot, seem to be the only problems. The weight isn't conyeyed so convincingly at those times.

Wow that's nice Tendril !!
I really like when he falls down
But I've to agree with Sumaleth for the Weight problem when he is walking ...
Check also his gravity center when he is standing both feet on the ground ... sometimes he should fall
Hey, what are you using ? Character studio ? IK ? FK ?
Anyway, this is a funny one!

Thanks everyone.
Sumaleth & Faz: yeh, I see what you mean about the weight shift problems, Im going to go back and see if I can fix them.
Faz: Its using 3dstudio max with character studio. Its not using pissy footsteps though, its an entirely freeform animation.
Thanks again everyone for the encouragement.
As I said I am doing the sound again, does anybody have any suggestions on where I get the sound from? Where do other people who do this sort of thing get their sounds from? |
