Great looking model, love the rust textures. As for the windows try using some alpha maps that way you don't have to deal with the geometry too much

Nice! Suggestions: Add scratches to the mag wheels, dried and crackly rubber to the tires, actual dents in the hood or other metal parts, scuffs around the keyhole, missing rubber from around a window, scrapes on the bottom of the bumper.

greta model... looks kinda like a honda crx... :P cracks in the windshield would be nice, as well as a shattered window maybe... one thing really stuck out, though... the tires need much more wear and tear, they look too new...

regards,
teck

where's the headlights?

I was gonna say one headlight flipped up would add to the dramatic feel... but....

thx for the suggestions, the reason why i have so shiny rims on it is that i made a "showroom" version of it first, and havent changed anything on the rims yet.

So here's a question no one has asked. How did you build it?
Meaning what method did you use.
Love the showroom pieces by the way.
Great looking stuff

Knowledge: i guess in sweden(and europe?)they keept the crx name since they stopped making that "old" model 1991.

I made it with "Box modeling" in 3dsmax3, and heres a viewportpic from the modeling http://www.3dluvr.com/grid/temp/persp.jpg

actually, the crx does come in that body... in singapore my friend had a 96 crx (incidentally, it was the same color as GRID's model... :P) and the body was definitely the same...

cheers,

Knowledge: Its hard to say how long ive been working on it.
I started about 8 month agoe when i had bought a Honda crx myself, then when it was about 50% done i got tired of it and put it away.
Then some month later i got a idea to make it to this "Concept" Honda, and then i made a "showroom" version of it( as can be seen here: http://www.3dluvr.com/grid/3dgallery2/crx_concept.htm)
And then i got this idea to make a old rosty version.

HOLY MOTHER!
Thats one fine model.
I check the link you provided and may i just say that the renderins on the bottom look SO F***ING REAL! The blue one looks just like it was a plastic model and the image below that looks like a real picture of a car. AMAZING! Keep it up.

Hey, you gotta add something that no beat up car should be without:
A different colored door
previous owner got the door knocked off and replaced it, he was too lazy to paint it to match the car.

Model looks great. Your textures are struggling to keep it together though. I've had similar issues in the past, especially with photo based textures. What's your surface setup look like?

Ive been using texporter and then ive made a 8000x1024 pixels texture in photoshop, partly photos and partly by myself.
