I'm not extrememly fond of the hole many "musical" artists have dug in the present.

Being a "musical" artist myself, I feel I am entitled to a comment, not that you aren't...but just incase this is a trick question.

The reason I don't like pop today, or most extreme pop is the fact that It's all studio magic. I have produced tracks for a girl named Larissa and she is actually very talented, writes her own lyrics, makes up her own riffs, etc. I know how the studio works, I know whats in it and what you can do with it. Britney Spears can't sing...listen to an acapella of hers, harmonizers, cuts, pitchshifting, and many ugly glitches, not to mention she probally cant hear herself seeing as how her studio headphones are loud enough to hear on the vocal track.

Tool: The Riffs are nice, but nothing special, there are lots of bands that can play a guitar. Manyard, since he's been mentiontioned so often...hold on *turning on Tool music so that he can get his info correct and somewhat appropriate*

I don't see the extreme depth. It might be there and im just missing it...oh well.

there is plenty of pop appeal in his music, its ....crap, i cant think of anything right now. um.

so instead i shall just be totally irrevilant, spel things wrong, act liek en assshule and tell you, "j00 4ll sUx0r" and say im better than all of you blargh blargh blargh.

Notes on me:

I can't stand most dance music since it just keeps going on and on and on....strangly enough a dance song worked its way on my page...i hate it, but there is an understanding between me and the people that vising my page.

I listen to every type/style of music. send me something, ill give it a go and return a response. thats how i work.

On a more serious note...GROW THE FUCK UP. There is no group of people more disgustingly loyal than the tool fans. Maynard could put a mike up his ass and fart the national anthem and people�d still buy their shit. There are other, far more emotional and sincere, kinds of music out there that dont need the support of MTV or a major label to spread good music. Take your head out of your ass, try to reach at least the mental age of 18 and please, please take the fucking "tool" out of your nick. Your slimey fan-act makes me puke.

i can't stand tool. that's my sole reason for not being able to listen to the stuff. maynard's whiney voice stinks ass and could just as well be on top of the Blue Oyster Bar scene in Police Academy, the music is just boring and repetitive and whiney pop, and i hate tool fanatics. they are worse than christians..

Damnit. Maynard (not the real one) is a Lincoln Douglas debator. Makes sense, too. NFL is huge in Arizona. Maynard, the only people that even care WHAT a fallacy of association is are debate nerds like you and I. Don't attack the person with them.

Saying I have no taste in music is fallacious in it's own right. To subsume and construe things and turn them into a personal attack from one post is not the brightest thing to do, especially since you a) don't know me b) don't know what i listen to c) assume that your taste is the best, and I don't conform, I therefore have no taste. But i'll let it slide, since personal attacks attack the attacker more than the attackee.

*shrug*

I don't think i need to reiterate the attacks on tool. They're .. . . .okay..., but only in minute, two minute doses. They're not nearly as original as the majority of tools claim, and the lyrics are nothing special or deep.

On lyrics. Lyrics are nothing. Lyrics, again, represent ideas, not actual music. Half of all lyrics have bad grammar and the rest are non-sensical bubble gum gibberish. Lyrics are the door to the deeper meaning of music. Lyrics are rhythmical words. That's it.

Tool example you say? Die Eier Von Satan. The lyrics are just a recipe in German for a pastry. Nothing special. It's just a recipe. But it's the notion behind the lyrics, the the recipe for evil that really makes the song.

(Die eier von satan, by the way, is about the only Toolsong I can listen to twice in a row.)

Cool, i'm seeing a tought out response. I still disagree with you though. De Eier Von Satan has it's purpose, if you hadn't looked at the translation of the lyrics, you'd think it was about some nazi death camp. And lyrics matter when I listen to music, that is half of what triggers the emotion you spoke of earlier. It seems we are bouncing the same arguments back and fourth. So I'm not going to keep repeating all the shit I already said.
