These are some things I've been doing in my sketchbook. I've been drawing them from this really cool costume book I got recently so that I can get better with the figure and with drawing the folds in clothes. I started doing this after reading the thread in art discussion that asked how many hours a day you spend drawing. I realized it wasn't enough
I'll be doing lots more I think...

Very nifty. Very nifty indeed.
I read that thread also... I need to spending more time 'arting'(I don't care if it isn't a word ). I will be very soon though...
Anyway, like I said before, these are nice, beth. You better do more |

Pretty cool stuff, my fave is the roman. Maybe you should work more on whole figures, in various poses?

hey, those are some really nice sketches. I especially like the roman guy one. The clothing you've drawn is great too, its not as easy as it seems to get clothes to look right.

Wow, those are very cool! I love em. Where did you study anatomy from? Or are they just copied from the book? Look great! |

Yeah, I'm just drawing these from the book. For the purpose of getting better with anatomy and clothing folds. I think it's helping a lot
Welp... today is just not a good day for drawing I suppose. *cries* It's really overcast outside so I have no light in my apartment. The ceiling lights aren't good enough, plus they tend to reflect off my pencil work too much. On top of that, the fact that I don't have a pencil sharpener is getting pretty damn annoying! I've been using a knife to sharpen my pencils for all the last drawings but it's getting kind of old. I did however manage to get a drawing somewhat complete... even though I had to do it in the dark with dull pencils
If the sun comes out I will do another. Maybe something more tribal |

I always check your posts Jezebel, I like your work. I no what you mean about working in the dark, my room has got sod all natural light, and the electric light is just not worth it. And i got a really old pencil, under an inch long now! (no wise cracks) I still use it though
I think some more tribal stuff would be a very good idea... keep working on them, I'd love to see more. Maybe you should do a bigger one, full body, i'll have a go at colouring it if you like.. just an idea, keep you in the mood |

Man... finally got a pencil sharpener and I turn out a piece of crap like this! I think it's my worst one by far but I'm posting it because I guess it's good to look at one's mistakes.

You going through a particular/specific "time/period" with your sketching at the moment, or is it just the "urge" at the moment. (like the guys get after seeing "star wars" or something?)
Edit:MY BAD = being an idoit I just read the first post!!!

hehe Beth. I think the problem with the last one is the head isn't big enough in comparison to the body. =) also the shading in the face and around the lip area throws of the picture imo. |
