That close up of the ockton is really nice. I like the eye. Very nice picture. Can't wait to see the finished/updated thing. |

Ocktons are mythical lizard-type critters with a primitive culture and powerful magic. The are indiginous to the Ernor setting and are only slightly similar to raptors. This is a painting I did last year as an experiment in guache based on a photo I took while visiting Seattle for a comic con.
Here is a screen grab at 50% detail of the reworking I'm doing in Pshop based on that earlier painting. I will post the final in the Finished section when done
To find out more about ocktons and the world of Ernor they inhabit, visit: http://www.ernor.com/

You have a wonderful start here.
My only comment is that the Octon character gets lost in the backround. The values are too similar. It fits well with the background, but you may want to play with the lighting a bit to make him pop out a bit. Other than that, it looks great. It just seems to get lost a bit, that's all. |

Thanks for the comments folks!
Dryfire - Made it all the way to page two! with three posts!
I punched up the colors of the black ockton and added a bit of haze behind him to bring him forward.
I have begun to block in the two females in this example. The puple stuff on the tail was file damage when I went back to open the document again. I had to repaint a good chunk of the red female and bits of the purple still show through a bit. I thought I'd leave it on her since it looks a little interesting. |

Nice character designs! I like their colors.
I feel the all things in this picture might need more highlights and shadows... especially, the trees' shadows on the octons and on ground, the ocktons' shadows on themselves, on the ground, on the water...
I think the highlights and shadows would make them like they are really existing in the world!
I'm looking forward to the final! |
