Monitor eh?
I don't quite catch if you mean that that is a good or bad thing?
Personaly i kind of made it like that, supposed to be a thin blue glowing thing...but since i drew it from the side you can't really tell that.
Anyway, if someone would like to c&c the image i would be greatfull, maybe add a background too?

I'm with the snowman, his legs to short
edit: took out some not needed comments and have a quick guide to proportions and how far out they are, hope this helps 
Normal is around 8 or 8 1/2 heads in height. This comparison shows why he looks a bit on the dumpy side.
