I'm kinda filling clearly defined lines with sketchy stuff. I don't have a tablet so that style is somewhat out of reach, but I'm trying anyways.

My main problem areas are the lips and eyes. I don't really know what to do about them

Don't define them, let the shadows and shades give the impression of weight and recession. The only time I clearly draw lips is when its a chick with lipstick on.
