The proportions aren't too off, it's pretty good. The far eye on the 3/4 view has been my El Guapo for a long time. I finally relized (after staring at a large number of people) that the eye rests in the ocular cavity, vice being laid flat below the brow. Also pay attention to the eye's shape (it's rarely a perfect almond). The lips also seem to just be lying atop the chin. Nice job, though! |

Two posts and lots of good suggestions! Thanks! I can guarentee this one will be finished, as I plan to give it to the pretty girl which it is based upon. I had to fiddle with the proportions until it looked like her, thats probably what got most of them correct. All through 5th and 6th grade in my spare time I drew a huge number of faces, but most were flat and straight on. I'm currently 15 and I can always tell that I have too much practice with straight on and none with angles, because pictures such as this are very hard for me. Anyway, I'll post the final up here (I'm considering attempting painting it).

(1 last thing, that eye nearly drove me insane. Thanks for the help, I'll see what I can do on it)

Looks like a good start.
ok here are the crits....
the ear looks too high, the top of the ear should line up with the eyes, and the earlobe should line up with the bottom of the nose.
your lips look like they are a front view instead of rounding with the face, try some foreshortening on the far side of the lips they should be smaller than what is closer
the eye on the far side of the face should be hidden just a bit by the nose
keep on trucking faces are so hard to draw, especially with all the proportions to think about, your on the right track though, hope you finsh this one. |
