Okay, this forum has finally motivated me enought to think I can submit something without hanging my head in shame.
I am also going to try to colorize it in PS, but I am still learning the $!!@#*^% program so I'm sure it will look amateurish.
Crits and comments definitely welcome.

and the first step at coloring

Please be gentle, its my first time...

Thanks, I get lucky sometimes and the pose comes out decent. I am still trying to learn the intricacies of PS, kind of hoping to get some good tips or pointers to tuts. The only one i've used so far has been PolyKarbons site for coloring, but I'm sure there are so many more techniques I can use, I just need to find out how to use them.

Looks good to me, i like the big smile! You might want to look into shading and highlights, look around the rest of this forum to see how other people do it, that's what i did

Patrick...

Nice linework! Very clean..reminds me of the style my lines have...love her biggish, gloved hands, this has tons of character. I don't like the oversized, cartoony eyes, but everything is *great*. I like the simple coloring too, it matches her cartoony look..although I think it is a sophisticated type of cartoon.

Check out this quick treatment I did...changed her face\hair, little changes to feet, with some color.

Nukleon, I can't see your pics. I tried in both Netscape and IE and they arent showing up...
The coloring is only the first step so far, I am going to try to shade and add some detail as I go along trying to learn PS.
Evil< thanks, I've been lurking for about a month, but the artwork in here is phenomenal and definitely inspiring.

Geez...I wonder how many people can't see my pics? So what do you mean..just a red x or nothing at all? Are you able to see other pics I've done? Hmmm...please help me figure this out...yeah I spent a little time painting a variant of your cartoon and it'd be nice ifyou saw it. Are you on a MAc or PC? (Not that that should matter..trying to figure this all out).

Can you see my sig?

I can see your pics just fine Nukleon...

And the pic in your sig...

Did I just use 2 three letter abreviations in one sentence?

Nukleon,
I can see them now from home, must have something to do with our firrewall at work, but I've seen most the other pics of yours. I like your line style as well.
I like what you did with her except the face. I like the big eyes and the hair. I drew it to look like a friend of my stepdaughters, so I probably will keep her face and hair.
The only problem now is I know what i come up with wont even come close to what you did...
Oh well, call it incentive.

Well, as promised, here is a finished version of my coloring attempt. I know its amateurish, but I just cant get good strokes using a mouse. I will post the larger finished version in the finished section.
