I've been lurking around here for a little over a month. My friend, Shahar2k, keeps trying to get me to post, but I'm a wuss.
Well, I saw the threads that Jezebel started, and the Roman Priestess challenge caught my attention. Here's what's done so far.
I'm sure bits and pieces of other people's styles have crept into it, especially Enayla's. I've been reading a lot of tutorials and looking at other people's drawings to learn new techniques, so that's where that comes from. Any criticism and/or comments are welcome. |

well, CG you're getting a lot better.
havn't seen this one yet... here's my usual string of complaints... the eyes are a bit too far apart
the hairline should be a bit more chaotic and transparent, but this picture has a better sense of depth than a lot of your others, the crown is especially good
oh, and the lips are too small, unless she's pouting... because usualy the ends of the lips find themselves right under the center of each eye.
keep practicing though, you're getting better with every pic |

Hi there...
She looks like Princess Leia! No just kidding..that is a joke from the OG thread.
Looking good, I'd check that hairline, perhaps make it look less 'pluggy' like the hairclub for women. More contrast...stronger hilites and deeper shadow, more resolved lighting direction.
I'd also make the hairlines less 'round', perhaps look at a pic of a woman's hairline for reference..you'll see some areas that are wispier than others...looking pretty good tho.

Thank you both for your comments and criticism.
*grumbles* The hairline's been giving me big issues since I started this pic. I'm working on it, but I'm starting to get sick of this picture.
I knew her left eye was off a little when I drew it, but I couldn't get it to look even remotely right any other way.
The mouth... *cracks up* The original drawing looked nothing like this, and I scrapped it and started over. I really screwed it up badly, but the mouth looked sooo much better than I can usually make them. The rest of her head kind of formed around it.
I'll have an update soon, I think. There are some things that are still bugging me that I want to fix before I upload the nearly complete version.
