Okay I got a Metallica song stuck in my head so i went to the sight to find what song it was so I could go get that CD well there I was going through the Bios and found out Kirk Hammett reads H.P.Lovecraft. Okay maybe it just hits me as odd that someone else reads him. You have to understand Book stores here don't even know who Lovecraft is. I've never found anyone around here who knew who Lovecraft was. So I guess it might be more of a shock to me.

"the thing that should not be" and "the call of the Ktulu" are the Lovecraft inspired songs by Metallica

from Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets...

*crouches and hides as he awaits the EURO-ROCKERS verbal onslaught*

because Metallica sucks, right Faust and Spitfire?
*whimper*

P.S. I Suggest "Ride the Lightning"...It's their best album in my opinion...

It's the one with "call of the Ktulu"

the song you probably have stuck in your head...the instrumental one?

"the thing that should not be" isn't as good anyways...

I think the question is "who doesn't know of Lovecraft?"

Okay I have to order Lovecraft books if I want to buy any and have to have them brought here from the state over if I want to borrow one from the library... No one here has a clue who he is.

PandaX52: I did not know that. I can sleep tonight I learned my new thing today.

Ok ok!!!!!!!!!

I shall tell my story!
At the time I couldn't use uvw unwrap in 3ds max. This was the main reason i fucked up. They set me a task to do a Byakhee in a week and I did it but the textures were badly stretched.
Although now looking back i may have thought about the interview too much and become paranoid. The said I could use as many maps as I wanted "a test of creative skill not technical" but when I phoned them they said I had used too many. A small discrepancy.
Also, Simon of Simon the Sorcerer fame asked if would be able to go back to that sort of game and I said " I suppose I could lower myself" which was a joke but they may not have appriciated it.
Over the next 4 months I learnt how to model properly. I have continued to send then work (no reply) but they have just recently started hiring again! As long as they don't think I have some huge personality flaw I'm hoping they'll get in touch... fingers crossed.
The main thing that pisses me off in retrospect is that I almost immediately became technicaly proficient but so few companies (over here at least) are willing to train. You have to make money for them immediately. Its crap because I saw some of the characters that had already been done and I know I could do as good if not better. Ho hum

crappy...I sort of did the same thing during my internship interveiw...I said: "I'd do this for FREE"...my ex-boss then said, "allright we'll pay you for minimum wage!"

damn, my lack of gumption!
At least I don't work there anymore...

working makes you realize how valuable free time is...I'm savoring this chair through my ass as we speak!

(edit) it was a intership-to-part time gig...that's why we talked about wages in the interview...

Jabberwocky- just go to Barnes and Noble or Borders. I just picked up "The Transition of H.P. Lovecraft- The Road to Madness" from the former two days ago. They had plenty more where that came from.
