I have no idea why I drew this, but while sketching it came out fairly well so I scanned it in, sharpened the linework and began to color. As is obvious it is both unfinished and not an attempt at realism.
Any ideas how to use dynamic light to make the character seem more interesting/3d would be appreciated.

lol dr. bang it's a guy!
Anyway, the drawing looks good. I like how you made the eyes kind of popping out the side of his head. Makes him look like a fish heheh. I guess the coloring on the vest and the...grass skirt thing arent done but the skin looks good at this stage. Since it's a characature I don't see much to critique. Nice work.
(edit) hmm just noticed, maybe a little more shape to the nose?
