Sorry to bother you specifically, but you were the only one who responded last time.

The blue part is supposed to have a brushed aluminum feel to it, but I can't get it quite right.
This digital painting thing is harder than it looks. . .

Yeah I know how you feel. To get good at it, it takes work just like anything else I suppose. Anyways for these type of images your being way to timid with your colors. The parts in your coloring that really stick out are the green on the legs and the brown crotch cover thingy. Your also trying to use so many colors. Try sticking to a few and if need be you can always add more when you get a base down.

hey man, yeah brushed aluminum is hard, and might be out of place. what you have right there allready is much too blue and appears to be too shiney. aluminum is usually grey with just a tint of blue(as well as others depending) and duller. you can find references for it easily because there are a ton of aluminum texture maps around. sorry i cant be more helpful. the mech is comming along very nicely though! i love those green crystal things on the legs...

Thanks for the crits, all.

Jucas-The parts that stick out; do you mean those are colored well? Or that they're especially poor? Too many colors; well, I'm thinking of switching all the glowing parts to greenish tint like the legs. Then he'll mostly be earth tones. I like the maroon feet, but the blue I'm not too sure about. Thanks for the crits.

Shardik--Yeah, it's only semicolored, not done, but the blue part was really getting to me.

Roundeye--Thanks again for responding! What I had meant was blue anodized, brushed aluminum. But . . . maybe it would look good with just aluminum down there. Know a sight where I can find metal textures to compare? Thanks again; I'll keep working on it.
