After sseeing the Mummy DVD,(the re-release), and watching the amaziong behind the scenes doc on ILM,s Mummy effects("building a better Mummy") i tried a technique used in the film but on a still image of myself taken with a digicam, took it into photoshop and started the first hapf of the face, and will have the other half done in about a day or two. this image took about 4 hours to do.

Thanks, any critiqes would be appreciated

mask out sections of the face like scratches of wood or something like that, paste them and mess around with the [bevel] and [inner shadow] options. Gradient overlay with different blend modes, i think I used Multiply or Color burn, not sure, but I had no technique for this one but will likely attempt at formulating one, CHECK OUT THE DVD, they can tell you more about this stuff than i can.

Heres a Test animation applying that Technique to a 3D model.

The animation is the labelled "Mapped animation test.avi" Its a good start, methinks No.

You'll need the Divx codec to view it.

Hey Ben,

Just a small note; jaws don't translate down, but rotate about a pivot point right in front of the ear... if that helps any. I like the test you did.

frost.
