I know DDR is better than SDR, but does it improve preformance with 3d design programs, like 3dMax, lightwave, Maya...etc? Basically is it worth paying the extra 50-100 bucks for DDR?

I want to get a card thats good for both games and 3d Modeling.

thanks-in advance for your replys.

My opinion:
GeForce = TNT2 Quality + V00d00 Speed

GeForce rocks, and is my video card of choice, however paying extra for DDR will not help you with CAD.

The extra memory bandwidth has no effect on the T&L engine, and is primarily used for large texture storage.

If you want an extra 10-15 fps in games with high-res textures like Q3A, then get the DDR instead of the SDR. Personally I think you'd be better off saving your money by buying the SDR - great for games, just as good as DDR for CAD...
