hi folks...this is my 2nd attempt at doing the whole photoshop color thing...scanned inked sketch. i don't consider myself very proficient at doing character drawings, so please excuse the poor anatomy and rather bland pose. not to mention the dorky pistol. this was really a color test to seen if i could color the damn thing as the ink line on a separate layer. any feedback would be great! thanks...

looks damn good to me!
seems a bit Agent44 inspired...
But i don't know about the greyish shadow in background maybe you should make it a bit darker.. i think it melts together with the orange to much.
great linework by the way!! |

I LOVE it. Looks great man, and if that's bad anatomy and a bland pose, I'll take it!
Only thing I really have to say is: With everything else done so good, the gun she's holding really sticks out. It almost seems like a toy.
Maybe you could make it a bit more detailed or impressive? Right now, it doesn't seem to fit.
Keep up the great work, look forward to seeing more from you.

Well to my eye the legs are a bit too short.. and the line work is a tad messy for the cleanness of the colors and background... but overall the picture works well. |

Hey,
I like your images a lot and also admired your marker sketching on Francis' forum. The others pointed out the things I noticed. I agree about the shadows being a little off, but not just the value of the greys but especially the hues. I think it looks a little more attractive if you use a darker and more desaturated color for the shadows.
I think you may have thrown the shadow (or changed an original white bg to color) in there at the last second, but I had 5 minutes to spare so I hope you don't take offense at my touchup.

I like it I also think empyrios did a good job with the touch-up. The shadows work better in empyrios' version than in the original. |

I may not be the expert in the field, but some things still cought my eye. The head feels somewhat too big, the left arm (and wrist) too long and the legs too short (more so from the knee down). I made a quick sketch on how it could look (the rough white drawing is how you had it, the colored one is my version).
But must say you're really draw better than I do. Great work on the pic otherwise.

yes, she's got a huge head! your version looks much better. i have a habit of drawing people with screwed up proportions...i think it has something to do with the fact that all i really draw are robots. thanks for the tips, i'm going to change them now!
