What i would do is continue the black down between the figures. Then add a second light source from left Mid-Upper quadrent that would cast some light on the figures and thier clothing.

EviLToYLeT, the problem is that i have been trying to hard on this pic. I have been looking at the same spot for hours redrawing and redrawing.. finally the only thing i see is the bad things in it. I'm quite satisfied with the athmosphere and the face to the right. But it's the stiff boring pose of the guy to the left that's annoying me.
But i think i'll just try to finnish it and leave it.. before it drives me insane.. |

Honestly, it looks fine as it is. the second guy from the left just adds more of an atmosphere to the painting. By refining it more, you would bring the focus to both of the people. *I think* Gives a great sense of atmosphere by portraying .. perhaps a whole plethora of these kind of people. Honestly, take a step back, look at it for what it is , as a spectator , not just that particular section and you may be suprised. |

I like the pose the background figure is adopting, but I'd say you need to look again at how far back his ear is in comparison to the rest of his face; there's something going on there which is making the cheek oddly bulge out, and we're losing his expression as a consequence.
You could also try the background figure looking (and turned) straight to camera, just to bring the viewer into the drama.
cheers

My advice would be to move on. Don't get me wrong, the guy on the right is very well done, but If your not enjoying the "process" then move on do something you have never done before. |

Specilbrew: Yes, I like the idea of the left guy looking straight to the "camera". The angle of face to the right is totally messed up, i've tryed to draw his ear but it did infact look even wierder then before.. so i leave him the way he is. I think i go with Jucas advice.. and hope i will learn something from my misstakes. |

hey.. I actually like this picture..
I dont think the left guy looks bad at all.. I just think there's not enough contrast..
you almost dont need half the detail you've got on the back guy..

thanks awetopsy.. your remake with contrast gave me an idea.
I'm thinking of drawing some polluted water in the empty space between them. And make the factory-thing reflect in that. Maybe add some floating dead birds and fishes.. that would make it more intresting
Thanks again you guys.. |
