This is an unfinished sketch of a troll axethrower/berserker from warcraft II, I'm not sure if I'm gonna finish it.

Very nice work. I like the linework and the simple shading, nothing too overdone. I wouldve liked to see a tad more development in the rest of the figure (I know how boring it can get to keep drawing, because we start with the head and then as our pencils dullen we get a bit looser with the drawing) but you should still finish sketches, it's good practice.
My main concern about this is the pose...it seems to lack action, and he seems a bit stiff in his stance, not really doing anything we can decipher. Is he punching? Is he grabbing someone's neck (to be added later) or is he holding a weapon? Either way, he's pretty emotionless in his facial expression and body gesture, so in either scenario, he should have a bit more twist to his body and a bit more emotion in his face.
I would've also liked to see him a bit more cartoon like, since he is a cartoonish character...it looks like a normal teenager regurgitating a large piece of bone he ate for dinner, instead of that bone being his actual tusks.
Anyway, just giving you some critique because I know what you're trying to do here and you're almost there, you just have to push it that extra bit. Very strong anatomy so far (in the places you spent some time) and good shading/line. Keep it up, and keep practicing. |

Scoop: Yeah, i wasnt planning on making this any kind of action scene, it was just a concept drawing type thing, which is why the pose is so... lacking.
About the tusks, i didnt know whether the troll's tusks were on the bottom jaw or the top, so i guess i just kinda stuck it in-between. I also think that the ear is a tad low. anyway... |
