Hello, this is my first time posting here, I'm doing this piece of art with an elf in a forest. I know I need to lift her ear a little and make it pointy, but the thing I am really stuck on is doing a tree backround around the lake int he back. Could anyone show me some illustration examples of tress or a good backround to give me an idea perhaps? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

the drawing is good, a bit too light though, and way to large. size it down so we can get a better look at it!

I think u need to lower his eye. It looks a little misplaced, allmost as if it was in his forehead. Well too high in it..

Nice start.. finnish it off.

Crouching Woman, Hidden Pig

Sorry I couldnt resist. I hope this doesnt seem like Im defacing his work. If you look at the paper under the drawing itself you'll notice a faint outline where hard pencil was pushed and it indented the paper.

Sorry..

the drawing itself is quite good (the pic you want us to see) I agree, the anatomy of the head needs adjusting...

-awe

(sorry If I upset you.)

Yeah, sorry. It was the page before that drawing there in my sketchbook. We have to do a sketch each week based on a theme, that one was obesity

Anaharath, yes, read over Ron Lemen's stuff.. it'll give you an idea how to adjust things accordingly. Second of all, I'd advise that you get a mechanical pencil and perhaps accent the lines of the girl a bit more. Get it darker. But, It may already be dark and just your scanner sucks. In that case, get a new scanner.

As for the background, try not to emphasize on the details. It seems that the focus is more on the girl in the front and you just want the stuff in the background to supplement the drawing, so attention to detail really isn't necessary. Just go outside, and draw the outline of a tree and perhaps even assign geometric shapes to bunches of leaves and branches. It'll help you learn a lot and faster.

-hope this stuff helped ... hehe
