This is a still life study from the book "How to Draw What You See" Critique? It's one of the few sketches I'm happy with.

heh, I have that book. I never bothered to finish reading it though, I'd rather read drawing on the right side of the brain. The author got into specific mediums too early, and the basis is more in reproducing geometric shapes than understanding form.

take a look at the perspective on the coffee pots' handle....try setting up some perpsective grids and making cubes and other basic objects to start, then draw in your more complex rounded shapes...
